KIDS ON THE BLOCK offers performances during the school year for students in Grades 4 to 6. Performances take place in schools, community centres and events within the Ottawa area. See Skits for the available skits. The choice of skits is up to you. Performances begin in late September and end in early June. Our puppet troupe of four puppeteers performs every second Wednesday. Performances are generally every two weeks. Performances can be scheduled for late morning and/or in the afternoon.

Following the performance, you will given a resource kit, containing books and activities appropriate for your grade level. This kit will be on loan to our school for 2 weeks following our last performance

A performance usually takes 45 minutes to 1 hour and accommodates up to approximately 80 students. Most schools require 2 performances of 2 or 3 skits each during our visit. Schools with 200 or more students can book for 2 days. Puppeteers arrive one hour prior to a performance to allow time to set up and require approximately half an hour to dismantle at the end of the performances.

Kids on the Block is a non-profit registered charity (11907 1306 RR 0001). All funds raised are used to maintain the quality of our program and to help cover the cost of puppets, insurance, props, equipment, travelling, volunteer training, and program coordination. No profits are made by Kids on the Block.

Kids on the Block Ottawa sets a fee of $150-$200 per day, approximately $1.00 per student.
